REM Surface Engineering's ISF® Process is an aerospace isotropic superfinishing technology with particular strength in vertical lift drivetrain applications. The process creates a smooth, micro-textured surface on gears, shafts, bearings and related drivetrain components. The technology is utilized by platforms including the Sikorsky S-76 & S-92; the Bell 427, 429, & 525; and the Leonardo AW189 and has supported loss-of-lubricant tests that exceeded 60 minutes of operation due to decreases in wear/contact fatigue/operating temperature/vibrational noise and increases in load carrying capacity/scuffing resistance.
